Read MoreMonday, July 11, 2011. I sat next to this gentleman on the bus to Seattle from Portland. He is part Nez Perce Indian, and completed the 200 mile Seattle to Portland ride in one day. He spend nearly 21 hours solid on his bicycle to complete the ride, and arrived in Portland at 5 to midnight on Saturday evening. His last name is Killgore, and he grows peaches on a farm alongside the Salmon river in White Bird Idaho. Quite the inspiration, and a truly nice guy.
Saturday, June 25, 2011. Mt. Rainier looms over the Port of Seattle. This was the view after a 60 mile ride in preparation for this year's Seattle to Portland bicycle ride in two weeks.
The Domed structure on the right is a platform that is used by the US Missile Protection System. It is being refurbished in Seattle. The dome houses an extremely sensitive phased array radar. This platform is self propelled and is normally situated close to trouble spots that pose a missile threat to the US or it's allies.Saturday, May 18, 2011. The Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence at the annual Gay Pride "Dykes vs the Cross Dressers" basket ball game in Capitol Hill. The sisters of Perpetual Indulgence " is a charity, protest, and street performance organization that uses drag and Catholic imagery to call attention to sexual intolerance and satirize issues of gender and morality."
Wednesday, June 8, 2011. Attended a talk by Jonah Street, 5 times Dakar racer, and top 10 finisher. Jonah is a humble and very friendly guy that Eric, Chris and I were able to spend some time afterwards chatting with. He will be racing in the 2012 Dakar and will receive his new motorcycle next week.
